Who We Are: Bullpen Capital is the leading post-seed venture capital fund. We focus on high-performing butoverlooked companies that exist outside the current fads of Silicon Valley. Investing out of oursixth fund, Bullpen is sector-agnostic, and our portfolio companies range across areas such as healthcare, fintech, SaaS, consumer, and gaming. Our investments have included FanDuel, Life360, JackPocket, Brightside, OneRail, AvantStay and Splitwise. We look for companies with great founders and strong product-market fit in categories that don’tseem like obvious wins.What We’re Looking For:As an analyst, you’ll be on the front lines. The core of this job is evaluating new investments—identifying compelling opportunities in areas familiar and unfamiliar, fielding inbound deals, and sourcing others.The organizing principle of Bullpen is original thought accompanied by high conviction. We gravitate towards scrappy individuals who are self-driven and motivated by curiosity and the propensity to learn. Your professional background is less important than your ability to connect with founders and analyze opportunities clearly. Our most successful analysts have had a mix of quantitative skills, exposure to startups and technology companies and experience with organizations at their earliest stages.Skills and qualifications:•You have strong project management experience and can set and meet deadlines independently. You’ll be expected to manage the end-to-end diligence process for multiple companies coming through our pipeline simultaneously.•You’re highly collaborative and have excellent relationship and interpersonal skills.Although many elements of this job require a self-starter mentality, you’ll be interacting with every member of Bullpen’s team and tapping into our network of founders and advisors.•You have a passion for startups. You’ll do some deal sourcing by attending demo days, industry events, networking with other investors, etc.•You value learning. Whether you’re doing a deep dive on a new sector or putting together a competitive analysis for a potential investment, having a propensity for learning is critical to becoming a great investor.•You’re a strong communicator and can distill large amounts of information and persuade others to your point of view.•You have a bachelor’s degree in any field.•You have 1-3 years of experience in analytics or operational support.•You have 0-3 years of experience in deal flow. This position is an apprenticeship at itscore and prior investing experience is not a must-have.•This position is based in San Francisco.
