Intuitive Ventures is the venture arm of Intuitive Surgical Robotics, it invests in companies reimagining the future of minimally invasive care. Our global focus spans diagnostics, MedTech, therapies, and digital health.With $250 million in assets under management, we back teams that share our passion for advancing positive patient outcomes, improving provider experience, and increasing the efficiency of healthcare delivery.Our team brings unique expertise as veteran investors, physicians, healthcare executives, engineers, and entrepreneurs.Responsibilities Include
Intuitive Ventures is looking to add an associate to the investing team in the Bay Area. Associates work directly with senior associates and partners to support all aspects of the investment process.Top Level Responsibilities Include
- Sourcing investment opportunities – Associates play a key role in uncovering investment opportunities through meeting and networking with founders and teams (direct outreach, attending conferences, demo days, meet-ups, etc.) Successful associates are an integral part of their ecosystem and develop deep relationships with entrepreneurs, fellow investors, and relevant industry executives.
- Driving investment due diligence - Associates are working with lead partners to answer key questions and frame any opportunities for review by our investment committee. Diligence often centers on questions around market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer traction.
- Supporting portfolio companies – The real work often begins after the investment. Associates partner closely with portfolio companies and help founders with business development, financial planning, fundraising, opportunistic M&A, hiring, and more
Qualifications
Experience/ Skill Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of healthcare- or life sciences- focused work experience, ideally from a venture capital firm, top-tier investment bank, management consulting firm or entrepreneurship.
- Minimum Degree in finance, economics, healthcare or life science related field
- Strong corporate finance and accounting knowledge typically gained through an investment banking analyst program and/or corporate finance and accounting coursework during university
- Advanced Excel financial modelling skills with ability to build complex models from scratch and independently
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail and work effort
- Demonstrated passion for cutting edge healthcare technology and early stage companies
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders internal and external. Ability to gain alignment towards common objectives
- Highly collaborative. Proven ability to work as a team player and cross-functionally with other teams and stakeholders
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial drive. High integrity and resourcefulness. Intellectual curiosity and strong learning ability.

It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.Base Salary Range Region 1:$158,700 - $228,300Shift: DayTravel: 25% of the timeWorkplace Type: Purposeful Onsite - This job requires being onsite for leader-defined events and activities which could be monthly/annually. Onsite frequency may increase based on business need.
