Role: Deal Operations Associate
OMERS Ventures, an early-stage tech investor, is looking for a data loving, process-driven team member to join us in either Toronto, New York, or Palo Alto (SF Bay Area) as a Deal Operations Associate. The Deal Operations Associate will work closely with an experienced team of venture capital investors, running the weekly deal pipeline, project managing the deal process, and staying on top of deal metrics. You'll be part of a collaborative team that is committed to driving innovation and growth in the tech industry. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn from industry leaders and contribute to shaping the future of technology startups. Our investment team is a mix of finance professionals and operators from various industries that bring diverse perspectives as we evaluate investment opportunities. Our operations team plays an important role ensuring the investors have the opportunity to see and win the best deals.
The ideal candidate for this role will be excited to:
- Maintain the deal pipeline, working closely with investors to ensure data is always up to date
- Work directly with Partners and Investors to deliver systematic insights and help refine their investing activities
- Create and maintain processes and documentation related to every aspect of deal flow, from origination through due diligence to deal closing
- Organize and lead the weekly deal meetings, monthly competitive review process and our quarterly investor reviews
- Coordinate with other departments (FundOps, Legal & Finance) to ensure the timely execution of deals
- Manage our data and workflow platforms including CRM
Qualifications:
- 5 years’ experience working in an operations role, at an established venture capital firm
- A natural “systems thinker” who enjoys process and workflow improvements
- Skilled at organizing tasks and delivering results in a fast-paced setting
- High emotional intelligence, ability to work with a diverse cross section of individuals
- Driven by curiosity. With a strong desire to learn & improve.
The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location in the US is listed below. The base salary that is ultimately offered to the successful candidate will consider a wide array of factors included but not limited to the individual's skill set.
Location: New York, San Francisco
Base Pay Range: $115,000 - 145,000 USD
You may also be eligible to receive an annual Incentive Award pursuant to our Short-Term Incentive Plan and our Long-Term Incentive Plan (if applicable), and to participate in our group benefits and retirement plans - details on these elements of compensation are included with OMERS and Oxford offer letters.
