We are looking for an Investment Analyst to join our Chicago-based investment team. In this
position, you will work closely with the investment team to manage the deal process, source
new investments, and manage efforts to promote and expand New Stack’s brand.
About New Stack:
New Stack was founded in 2015 with a mission to back “outsiders” – those of any race, gender,
industry, location, or background that are commonly overlooked by traditional venture capital
firms. Historically, Venture Capital has been closed and exclusive – only accessible to insiders.
Over 80% of capital has been invested in those who attended elite universities, worked in big
tech, and called the Bay Area home. Our team, like the founders we back, are mostly from the
Midwest, state school educated, and lacked the insider pedigree to a career in Venture Capital.
No VC would give us a shot, so we set out to build a firm of our own with a new philosophy.
After delivering top decile performance, New Stack has quickly become one of the leading seed
funds between the coasts. We are launching our third fund, and to support our rapid growth, we
are looking to add an analyst to our investment team.

As an Investment Analyst, your responsibilities will include:
● Capital
○ Assist the GP with all capital raising efforts – Identification, pipeline management,
communication, materials, etc.
● Dealflow
○ Build new strategic channels through relationships and technology
○ Source, filter, and pre-qualify investment opportunities in high-growth-potential
startups
● Diligence
○ Manage the deal process, communications, and deliverables required to
complete new investments (pre and post-term sheet signing)
○ Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to expedite the close of
investments
● Portfolio Management
○ Streamline and manage the capital strategy and Series A plan for portfolio
companies
● Brand
○ Conduct market research and develop theses on sectors of interest
○ Manage efforts to promote and expand New Stack’s brand
○ Create content that promotes and expands the New Stack brand
About You
● 2-3 years of work experience, ideally in Investment Banking, PE, Finance, VC, or as an
entrepreneur
● Passionate about entrepreneurship, technology, and investing
● Possess an entrepreneurial mindset, creativity, and resourcefulness
● Demonstrates high emotional intelligence and exceptional networking skills
● Strong oral and written communication skills with high attention to detail
● Self starter who is excited to work in a fast-paced work environment
