Role Description
Better Bite Ventures is hiring for a remote, junior analyst position, with future growth potential.
In this role, you’ll be working directly with partners of a venture capital firm backing food-agri tech startups in Asia Pacific.
Your work will help our small, nimble team support founders who are tackling climate change, reducing the carbon footprint of the food system.
You’ll gain hands-on experience in a young, growing VC firm, learn a lot about food, agriculture, climate and startup investing, and make an impact.

Job duties:
- Market research on food-agri tech / climate tech startups
- Assisting in due diligence and sourcing investments
- Keeping an internal database of startups, investors, events, media, advisors and industry news updated to assist in fund investment decisions
- Conducting startup competitive research
- Tracking portfolio startup news and updates
- Compiling reports for internal reviews
- Researching regulations related to food-agri tech, alt protein and climate tech
- Assisting with podcast - research, inviting guests, logistics
- Managing public-facing web resources
- Helping gather input for ESG and environmental impact reports
- Supporting teammates (two founding partners and head of ops/finance) on various other tasks
Must have attributes:
- Motivated by climate impact and/or animal welfare
- Ability to learn new topics quickly
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
- Analytical skills and strong numbers literacy
- Enjoy working in a dynamic startup team environment
- Proactive - willing to make suggestions and improvements
- Strong online research skills
- Strong digital skills including spreadsheets, databases (e.g. Airtable)
Nice to have attributes:
- Background in biology, food, chemistry, environment or related science field
- Basic programming / scripting
Remote work:
- Asia Pacific timezone (you must be living in the timezone) - work hours to overlap with Australia, New Zealand and India timezones
- Full-time (preferred) or part-time (at least half-time)
- Available for video calls (daily)
