Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Associate to join our Siemens Services team, based in Palo Alto, CA. With the Siemens Services Team, we bring the external venture perspective to Siemens. We help their intrapreneurs to operate like a startup and Siemens managers to make decisions like a VC. This role is a unique blend of business development, venture, and startup accelerator responsibilities, offering a hands-on opportunity to shape growth trajectories within Siemens. You will be deeply embedded in the heart of the Siemens innovation engine as a member of the Siemens Services team at Next47. The ideal candidate will be someone who is not only passionate about driving strategic initiatives but also has an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong investment acumen. The Senior Associate in the Siemens Services team will be a critical connector between Siemens’s core businesses and the cutting-edge startup ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Engage in continuous strategic initiatives regarding build, invest, or partner models with key leaders in the associated Siemens businesses.
- BUILD: Source strong internal Siemens teams for participation in the Accelerator program.
- PARTNER: Proactively map the market for relevant startups in the industries related to the Siemens businesses, identifying and engaging in conversations to explore potential partnership opportunities.
- INVEST: Participate and support the strategic investment process upon request from Siemens businesses, including deal execution, transaction management, and ongoing portfolio management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field; MBA or relevant graduate degree is preferred.
- Five years of total work experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally at a tech start-up, an accelerator, or technical consultancy.
- Experience in market analysis, building startup networks and/or investment fundamentals.
- Excellent networking skills with an ability to engage with startups and internal stakeholders.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical capabilities, with a solid understanding of P&L management and business growth levers.
- High level of initiative and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the capacity to convey complex concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
- A collaborative mindset and experience working with cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams.
Additional Requirements
- Must be authorized to legally work within the United States.
- Willingness to travel domestically an average of 10 times a year and internationally an average of 4 times a year.
Role Location: Palo Alto, California (Onsite/Hybrid)
- Next47 is headquartered in downtown Palo Alto with team members working from our HQ a minimum of three days per week.
Compensation
The base salary range for this Palo Alto, California-based role is between $135,000-$165,000 annually, with the base salary offered being varied depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and other benefits; and a 401(k) matching program.
