Consumer Insights Listener: Summer 2024

👂 Do you obsess over Listening to consumers? Do you nerd-out on research? Does a design-thinking approach to venture capital pique your interest? Then this internship is for you👇

A bit about this role: The Consumer Insights Listener will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with our Head of Listening and in collaboration with the rest of the Listen squad to build on our body of knowledge and sharpen our point of view around key investment categories and audiences. In this role, you’ll have a chance to apply the methods and mindsets of human-centered design and design thinking to the world of start-up investing and advising.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

- Lead design research sprints with consumers, experts, and founders and publish insights

- Deep dive into a start-up, category, and audience of interest

- Work with a Listen portfolio company and its founder(s) to promote consumer-obsessed decision-making

- Learn and get reps in Listen’s “listening” process, rooted in the principles of design research

You might be:

- An MBA student (completing first year preferred) with an interest in human-centered design, innovation, design thinking, business design, organizational design, design research, and/or consumer insights

- A Master’s student in consumer research, anthropology, design, innovation, psychology, and/or data science

- An Undergraduate student studying sociology, research, cognitive psychology, consumer behavior, anthropology, and/or data science

This position is compensated and requires a full-time commitment in the Summer. For the short answer questions below, please keep responses to around 100-200 words.

- End of Feb/Beg of March: Interviews

- Mid-to-End of March: Decisions and offer emails sent out

- End of May/Early June: Start Internship
