Who Are We Looking For?

Powerhouse Ventures is hiring a full-time, paid Summer Associate to support the investment team. This individual’s primary role is to support both active market research and diligence, as well as longer-term projects directly associated with our OKRs. The internship is expected to be 40 hours per week for 12 weeks from May-August.

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Support sourcing and reviewing startup opportunities
  • Support deal evaluation as needed, including financial analysis, competitive analysis, and market sizing
  • Collaborate on research efforts to proactively identify new investment theses and opportunities
  • Lead a research project focusing on opportunities in industrial decarbonization (or another mutually agreed upon theme)  
  • Collaborate on investment memo writing for any deals completed during the internship period
  • Support the quarterly survey process and LP reporting, as well as other aspects of portfolio company support
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

About You

  • Currently enrolled in an industry-relevant Masters or PhD program, or 4-6 years of prior industry-relevant job experience  
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • You have excellent communication skills and high EQ
  • You bring strong strategic, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • You have a willingness to dive into the details and navigate through ambiguity
  • You are driven and self-directed with outstanding organizational skills
  • You are passionate about climate tech
  • Industry relevant technical, engineering and/or operator experience is a plus
