Who Are We Looking For?

Powerhouse is hiring a full-time, paid intern this Summer to build database automation features, analytics tools, and visualizations to leverage the most comprehensive database of climate startups in the world (ours). The internship is expected to be roughly 40 hours per week for 8-12 weeks between May and August 2024.

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Manage and Expand Powerhouse Databases (90%)some text
    • Add features to our internal startup search and analysis tools
    • Develop machine learning algorithms to improve startup sourcing
    • Data analysis of the Powerhouse startup pipeline and metrics tracking
    • Integration of Powerhouse data with external APIs
  • Website development (10% and optional)

About You

  • Current student or recently graduated student in a Computer Science bachelor’s or master’s program
  • Experience with frontend and backend development (we use React and Flask)
  • Experience with machine learning and data analysis
  • Familiarity with MLOps and RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with common UI toolkits
  • Intellectual curiosity with strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of and interest in clean energy, transportation, and climate
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work on multiple projects at once
  • Meticulous organization of documents, deliverables, and metrics
